Product Details
Sun-dried fish meal is produced by drying fish or fish waste in open sunlight before grinding it into powder. Unlike steam-dried fish meal, it does not involve cooking or mechanical dryers.
Raw Material
Whole small fish (anchovy, sardine, mackerel, menhaden, etc.)
Fish waste from processing plants (heads, frames, offal)
Sorting & Cleaning – raw fish washed to remove impurities.
Sun Drying – spread on drying floors/nets, dried under sunlight for several days.
Grinding – dried fish crushed into powder form.
Sieving & Packing – final product bagged for storage or sale.
Protein: 45–55%
Moisture: 8–12%
Fat/Oil: 8–12%
Ash: 20–25%
Sand/Salt: 3–5% (higher risk due to open drying)
Digestibility: Slightly lower than steam-dried fish meal
